This film follows Anjali (Rimi Sen) as she runs away from home to tries to get a job. She needs to get money to pay debts to her family who owe their landlord some money. Otherwise she will have to marry his son, Raju (Rajpal Yadav), whom she describes as a "First Class Idiot." Her first task is to get an apartment, and she learns that the only way she can rent the one she wants is if she is married. So she has to fake a marriage and ends up living with Nandu (Aftab Shivdasani) whom she doesn't get along with. Then she tries to get a job working for millionaire businessman Radesham Tiwari (Paresh Rawal). She turns up to his house for an interview but Tiwari's suspicious wife slams the door in her face. As she waits for Tiwari, an electronics salesman named Jeetu (Akshaye Khanna) thinks she is Tiwari's daughter, and tries to woo her. Coincidentally, the millionaire's wife (Shoma Anand) also happens to be called Anjali which which later leads to confusion between Jeetu, Anjali, Tiwari, and his wife. Jeetu gives her a job at his electrical goods store and also falls in love with her. He is not aware, however, that Anjali is not the millionaire's daughter and she is also supposedly married to Nandu. Nandu starts to fall in love with Anjali and this causes Nandu and Jeetu to clash leading to lots of misunderstandings, lies and deceit. Then Raju comes to town to pick up his bride, and all hell breaks loose. Lies eventually snowball, and all the major characters then end up in a warehouse. A melee follows. In the end, Nandu and Anjali walk away together.
